April 28, 2005

VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland has done some co-production work on the upcoming sophomore album from the Los Angeles power trio THE ACTUAL. The band, who feature in their ranks singer Max Bernstein (son of famed Pulitzer Prize-winning Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein),are recording the CD at Burbank, California's Lavish Studios, which is co-owned by Weiland and the album's primary producer, Douglas Grean.

Commented THE ACTUAL singer Max Bernstein in a March 25 online posting, "Scott Weiland is coming in next week to produce 'Dancing on the Perimeter' and it’s gonna be amazing. I had to play it for him on acoustic guitar the other day and nearly died, especially when he chimed in with a backing vocal."

In a recent interview with the S.T.S. (Shoot The Shit) VELVET REVOLVER fan site and forum, Grean described THE ACTUAL's sound as "like GREEN DAY meets WEEZER, but way, way, way better." Grean also revealed that he and Weiland have plans to sign THE ACTUAL to Softdrive Records, the label venture Grean co-founded with Weiland back in 2003.
